24 exp / ISO 1 - 3 / Process: ECN-2 / No DX-Code

*NOTICE: This motion picture film CAN NOT be processed by standard commercial film labs! Vision3 film has a carbon based "Rem Jet" and can be home developed or developed by one of the recommended labs below. Please read all the information on this page before purchasing this product.

AGFA CP-1 is a technical lab film not originally designed for pictorial use. Processed ECN-2 or Home C-41 will yield a color negative that produces soft blue / violet hued images with reds that POP, if color graded.

With an iso of 1 to 6, AGFA CP-1 is recommended for daylight and brightly lit studio settings, and can be used in all manual 35mm cameras. AGFA CP-1 35mm is not recommended for plastic or point-and-shoot cameras due to the ultra-low iso.

Tips for shooting AGFA CP-1!

  • Shoot in broad daylight or with a Strobe (flash).
  • When using an automatic SLR cameras (like the Canon EOS series), set your ISO to 6 and start shootin'!
  • For non-automatic SLR cameras, If you camera can't be set to iso 6, you can set your meter iso to 25 open 2 f-stops or use a hand-held light meter (or app).
  • Not for use in plastic point and shoot cameras.

Why can't I process this film at my favorite C-41 lab? - Kodak's color motion picture films have an additional layer (on the shiny, not the emulsion side) called a "Rem Jet". Although technically this film can be processed C-41, this Rem Jet will foul commercial lab's equipment and there for can not be commercially processed. DO NOT BRING THIS FILM to a commercial lab or think you can "slip it through" - it will severely mess up their machines!!!!

What commercial lab will process my negs, scan and or print for me? - See links above.

How do I process this film at home with FPP's ECN-2 Kit?

In addition to the normal directions for home-processing please add the following step.

After your last step, rinse your film in a half bucket of hot water (80 - 102 degrees F). With your thumb, gently rub the non-emulsion side of your film as you remove it from your film reel. Careful not to scratch the emulsion side of your film. Final rinse under running water. You will see the black rem jet in your water as you rinse.

That's it! Hang your film to dry and then scan! Enjoy!!!
