  • $24.99

Shot on Super 8mm Film in 1989 - Scanned and Restored in 4K by the Film Photography Project!

A lost Super 8mm horror classic returns from the dead!

Filmed in 1989, The Basement is a low-budget horror anthology from writer/director Timothy O'Rawe, produced and photographed by Film Photography Project founder Michael Raso, with FPP Podcast co-host John Fedele serving as Assistant Director!

THE STORY

Four strangers are mysteriously drawn into the dark, claustrophobic depths of a decaying basement. There, a mysterious hooded figure known as the Sentinel forces them to witness horrifying visions of the terrible crimes they are destined to commit. Their only alternative? Eternal damnation!

FROM SUPER 8MM TO BLU-RAY!

Originally shot in 1989, The Basement remained unfinished for more than 20 years before finally being completed with a new soundtrack and dialogue dub.

Best of all, the Film Photography Project performed ALL of the film scanning and restoration for this release! Working from the original Super 8mm film elements, the FPP created beautiful new 4K scans, preserving this piece of independent horror history for a new generation.

The release also features newly discovered original audio from the 1989 production, along with a massive collection of vintage Super 8mm short films, television productions, and commercials, many newly scanned and restored by the FPP!

For fans of the FPP's MM Club (Movie Film Club) Podcast, this release is a special treat, featuring the early filmmaking work of Michael Raso and John Fedele!
